The Spectacular Story of an Astonishing Cancer Survivor Megan Sullivan
Ms. Namita Nayyar: What exercises comprise your fitness
regime or workout routine you may wish to share?
Ms. Megan Sullivan: I never know what adventure I might
get into next, so I always want to be physically fit to
be able to keep up be it high altitude climbing to
cruising around on skateboards, I like to call it
"Training for life".
My training consists on a lot of TRX training, running,
climbing, and high intensity interval training. I try to
get in a workout 5 days a week so when I am traveling, I
bring my TRX bands along with me so that I always have a
mini gym no mater where I am.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Do you take some special diet or have
a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and
physically fit?
Ms. Megan Sullivan: I don't eat dairy and stay away from
gluten. I keep it simple eating Meats, Vegetables, and
Fruits. No need for counting calories when you just keep
your food choice healthy and clean.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have glowing skin and gorgeous
hair. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it
young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hair
to make them look so stunning?
Ms. Megan Sullivan: Good skin comes from what you put in
your body, so eat well and wear a lot of sunscreen. My
hair has a mind of its own most of the time. When I
travel, I just usually put it in a braid and call it
good.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You fell 50-feet climbing in
Yosemite, got hit by a car and then was diagnosed with
skin cancer, all in one month. Two weeks later, you
decided to see the 7 New Wonders of the world with a new
outlook on life. You visited 12 countries, took 15
flights, travelled 28,211 miles, stayed for in hotels and saw seven wonders of the world in
just 13 days. Elaborate about this impossible dream
travel tour coming true?
Ms. Megan Sullivan: You will hit a point in your life
when you think that there is no way it could get any
worse until it does.
Days, weeks, months or sometimes even years later, you
will wake up with an amazing realization that you
survived; you were able to get through that moment even
though at that time you never thought it possible.
I've had my fare share of bad luck; but I have learned
to look at the bigger picture and realized that it's the
failures, loss, and disappointments that define your
greatest future successes.
You hold the power to decide how you are going to live
each day, so you might as well make it the greatest day
of your life. I had a dream and I made it happen :)
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You visited the spectacular and most
beautiful seven wonders of the world, namely Chichen
Itza Mexico, Machu Picchu Peru, Christ the Redeemer
Brazil, Colosseum Italy, Petra Jordan, Taj Mahal India
and Great Wall of China. Each one of them is a treat to
watch and must have been imbedded inside your soul with
cherished memories. But still which one you liked the
most and why?
Ms. Megan Sullivan: Machu Picchu. The year before the 7
Wonders trip I did the Salkantay trek which leads into
Machu Picchu. It was one of the most memorable trips of
my life, for the beauty of the countryside is
unbelievable.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You were diagnosed with skin cancer.
Tell us about your experience you wish to share in
winning this battle and being a proud cancer survivor?
Ms. Megan Sullivan: I am doing fantastic. I had the skin
cancer removed immediately and now I have routine skin
checks and wear a lot of sunscreen. The best advice that
I can give to anyone is to get your skin checked. This
cancer is preventable and treatable if discovered at the
early stages. A tan may look nice, but it is not worth
the next 70 years of your life also you can always fake
it!
Ms. Namita Nayyar: What you wish to say about the

Ms. Megan Sullivan: The only regrets that I have in my
life, are from the missed opportunities that I never
took a chance on.
