Namita Nayyar:

In 2018 you won the gold medal at the Mediterranean Games and the bronze at the European Water Polo Championship? Being the best involves a lot of dedication and commitment. Share five keys to being the best?

Beatriz Ortiz Muñoz:

Being the best implies being part of the best team. A player is not good by his own essence, in a team sport like Water polo; someone is good thanks to the rest of her teammates.
The 5 keys to be able to be the best or to be good, not only in this sport, but in general:

Namita Nayyar:

Introduce us to a day in your life. Your morning begins with.

Beatriz Ortiz Muñoz:

When I get up in the morning, I have breakfast while I do college work and study. Then I go to train with my team, like with them and I go home to rest and do things at home. In the afternoon I go back to training with the team and in the evening after dinner I like to relax reading, watching movies or series.

Namita Nayyar:

Exercises that essentially comprise your workout routine, both strength & flexibility? Exercise Therapy you practice to prevent injury or overcome it? Tips for beginners in water polo.

Beatriz Ortiz Muñoz:

I train every day with my team, and my coaches take care of exercises to prevent an injury or to overcome it. Yoga is an exercise that I like to do often to gain flexibility.
The advice I would give for beginners is that the work of this sport is very hard. But if it is done with desire, effort and ambition, it is much easier and more beautiful to do.

Namita Nayyar:

Share the diet that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit? Two Favourite smoothies you take as an energy booster.

Beatriz Ortiz Muñoz:

The truth is that I do not follow a daily diet. I try to eat some pasta after workouts, as carbohydrates are good for sports. As with a variety of foods, I don’t like obsessing over what I can or can’t eat, and someday I treat myself if I feel like it.

Namita Nayyar:

Training in extreme weather conditions can show its toll on hair & skin, Five tips you follow for skin, and hair care?

Beatriz Ortiz Muñoz:

The products that all pools contain are not very good for our skin and hair. After each training I take a shower and then I put cream on my body and face. Twice a week I use a face scrub and a hair serum.

Namita Nayyar:

Who has been your greatest influence and motivator in your success in the field of your career?

Beatriz Ortiz Muñoz:

My family and friends have motivated me to continue my sports career. They help me and encourage me to continue growing as a player and to believe that I can achieve everything I set out to do.

Namita Nayyar:

In the current pandemic situation, how do you keep yourself busy while staying at home?

Beatriz Ortiz Muñoz:

In the situation we are experiencing I do different activities to stay home and be busy: From doing college work, reading, learning to cook, yoga, physical training with the equipment, going for a walk, painting and watching movies and series.

Namita Nayyar:

Share with us your current home workout routine?

Beatriz Ortiz Muñoz:

I do yoga in the morning, almost every morning or someday. Three days a week we do joint training with the team and the other two days I do cardio or strength and abdominal exercises by myself at home. In addition to that I go out for a walk once or twice a day since we started to be able to go outside.

Namita Nayyar:

This year, you won the gold in the European Water Polo Championship. Share about that special moment of achievement?

Beatriz Ortiz Muñoz:

It was a very special championship, the Olympic Games were approaching and we wanted to do things well. Proud of my team and of making a dream comes true. It was not an easy competition, but it was very fun and special.

Namita Nayyar:

Social media has gained significance nowadays, how do you use it to inspire your audience?

Beatriz Ortiz Muñoz:

I like to follow up on my Instagram and Twitter. I upload photos exercising or on a daily basis. And make it clear to people that as much as we are at home in quarantine, we have to continue fighting for what we want to do and achieve in our lives.

Namita Nayyar:

Share a few words about the website Womenfitness.net and message for our visitors?

Beatriz Ortiz Muñoz:

I would like to thank this magazine for giving me the opportunity to make myself known. Playing a minority sport is not easy because people don’t care as much about Water Polo as they do about Soccer, for example. And you do it. Thank you.
