Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You are one of Hollywood’s most sought after Health & Fitness Experts with over 25 years of experience, founder and President of The Hollywood Trainer LLC., author of The Hollywood Trainer Weight-Loss Plan and creator of “The Hollywood Trainer Club”, a Virtual Online Healthy Living & Weight Loss Club. Walk us through your incredible Fitness journey and how it all began?

Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:

I started in fitness by playing several sports basically trying to hang with my older brother Roger who was an incredible athlete. At age 16, I started working in aquatics as a lifeguard, swimming instructor and aquafitness instructor. I started teaching land aerobics at age 17 and by 18 I entered my first fitness competition called the “Ms. Galaxy”. I studied Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa in Canada and during summers I would work in Florida at various Fitness Spas and gyms. I moved to Los Angeles at age 23 and started teaching classes at all of the top LA gyms, training clients, working behind the scenes and back up talent on several fitness productions.

I bought my first property at age 25 and this allowed me to start diversifying with my streams of income as I bought my second property the following year at age 26. After I purchased my second property I decided it was time for me to invest in my business and I created my first 7 workouts on VHS and DVD called “The Hollywood Trainer Cross Training Plan” which I still sell today on my website www.TheHollywoodTrainer.com and are also in my online virtual living club www.TheHollywoodTrainerClub.com with over 330 workouts, fitness challenges and over 150 healthy recipes and meal plans.  I continued to create over 17 workout DVD’s with Bikini Bootcamp2 being the most recent title and now I also create exclusive workouts like “Hot Body Bootcamp and Drop Set Chisel” that are only available in my online club.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You are a fitness expert and trainer, author, entrepreneur and businesswoman. Introduce us to a day in your life.

Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:

Every day for me is different depending on the projects I am working on. I typically train 3-5 clients in the morning and then work on the remaining of my projects in the afternoon. These projects range from creating workouts for my online club, social media campaigns for other brands, speaking engagements, specialty workouts, interviews, writing articles and blogs, consulting and much more.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine?

Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:

I cross train so every week includes weight training, cardio in the form of running/kickboxing/bootcamp/sports drills, yoga, pilates. Many times my workouts are the same as the workouts I provide in my online club www.TheHollywoodTrainerClub.com because I like to know what my customer/client is experiencing so I can answer their questions, improve workouts and design new challenges.

1 Week workout regimen:

Monday: 3 mile run and Ab Blast workout
Tuesday: Bikini Bootcamp
Wednesday: Pilates
Thursday: Cardio Kickboxing
Friday: Power Yoga
Saturday: Beach Workout & Canyon Hike
Sunday: Relax

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:

I eat healthy consistently and on the weekend I will have a couple of treats. Healthy eating for me is three balanced meals and 2-3 snacks per day and half my body weight in ounces of water so at least 65-70 ounces of water and 1-3 cups of green tea.

All of my meal plans and recipes are in my club www.TheHollywoodTrainerClub.com. Over 150+ Healthy Meals and 52 weeks of Healthy Meal Plans and I eat exactly the same as the meal plans in my online club. A balanced meal consists of protein, healthy fat, healthy carbohydrates with fiber and all organic. A healthy day of food for me is something like this:

Breakfast: Organic Eggology Veggie Egg White Omelet with a side salad
Snack: Green Smoothie of Pear, Spinach, Celery, Kiwi, Lemon, Ginger
Lunch: Turkey Sandwich on Whole Wheat Bread with Tomatoes, Lettuce, Mustard
Snack: Handful of Walnuts & Grapefruit
Dinner: Wild Alaskan Salmon with Sweet Potato and Asparagus
Snack/Dessert: Orange or Berries

I am very passionate about healthy eating because you are literally what you eat. Every cell in your body is made from the food that you eat. Many people still have not made the connection that they would feel 100% better and function at their best in good health if they ate quality food and gave their cells quality nutrients.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your haircare and skincare routine.

Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:

I don’t do anything special for my hair other than keep it very well conditioned. My skin regimen is also very basic and I use suncreen every day. My hair and skin are always in their best condition when I am eating healthy, drinking water and I notice an extra glow in my skin when I drink “Beet, Carrot, Apple, Lemon, Ginger” juice also known as the liver cleanse. The vitamin A in the Carrots are great for the skin and several nutrients and flavonoids from the beets are also great for the skin and blood flow.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding fitness trainers who all are your fans, they shall like to know from you, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in field of fitness?

Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:

I believe success is finding what you love to do and finding a way to service it to others and enjoying the journey. There is no end destination but instead a journey of several experiences that you can grow and learn from all while helping others along the way. Most trainers are already extremely successful but may need to change their perspective on how they define success.

My advice to any trainer is to remember that training is a service that you provide to help improve the quality of life of your clients. The service you provide is not about you, it’s about your client. The more you focus on servicing your client and creating solutions for your clients through effective programs then the more your clients will refer you for additional business and the more lives you will change. Your success is always connected to your service.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have worked with celebrities including P!nk, Alicia Keys, Tia Mowry, (Beyonce’s Mom) Tina Lawson, Amber Rose, Tracee Ellis Ross, Nia Long, Chris Bosh, Kelly Rowland, Serena Williams, Shonda Rhimes, Shawn Johnson, and many more. Would you like to share with us your experience training these top celebrities?

Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:

Every client is a unique individual with their own set of goals and health parameters. The biggest difference with celebrities vs. non-celebrity clients is that if you do not deliver results and help them achieve their goals then they have access to the best of the best so they will quickly replace you. So the best experience I can share to any trainer or professional is do a great job, work hard, listen to your clients needs and goals and create a program that delivers.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Who has been your greatest influence and motivator in your success in the field of fitness?

Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:

My greatest influence and motivator is God. I love fitness because it gives me the ability to add positivity to someone’s life. Exercise is an incredible gift and it’s free, you can move your body on the spot and in 5-10 min your body will start releasing endorphins and your mood will begin to change and when you are finished you always feel better than when you started.

Exercise decreases the risk of every illness from heart disease to cancer, improves your self-esteem, improves your brain function, increases your energy level, improves your hormonal regulation, helps your skin glow and so much more. You would think everyone would exercise but according to the CDC only 20% of the US population exercise on a regular basis and over 60% of the country is either overweight or obese. So my greatest motivator is God and my purpose is to inspire and motivate as many people as I can to enjoy the benefits of healthy living.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You are the creator of the internationally successful Hollywood Trainer DVD Collection with 18 DVD’s sold worldwide in 14 different countries. Tell us more about this successful endeavor of yours.

Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:

I started to create workout DVD’s and my first workouts were actually on VHS tapes to give people safe workouts they can do to get in shape. Once I started training celebrities, several media outlets wanted to interview me for their workout regimens and I knew that a 5 min interview was not going to give people the real tools needed for proper weight-loss so I created “The Hollywood Trainer Cross Training Plan” with 7 workouts, a meal plan and a rotational calendar. So I was servicing a need and I have received thousand of emails, letters and messages from people I have helped through my various workouts. In the end it was and still is about servicing a need. Now everything is on social media and the distribution channels have changed but the service is still needed. I personally believe one key to a successful business is making sure you are servicing a need and helping improve the lives of your customers.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have been associated actively with many non-profit organizations including The Boys & Girls Clubs of America, School on Wheels, The Samburu Project, Keep A Child Alive, Pretty Girls Sweat, Women’s Sports Foundation, UNICEF, that are dear to your heart, tell us how have you been able to achieve and quench your thirst of giving back to the society through this work?

Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:

Philanthropy is part of my annual business plan and it has been part of my life since I was a child. The first service I provided at the age of 10 was feeding young children at school breakfast. Sharing and helping others was instilled in me by my mother and it is and always will be a part of my life. No matter what situation you are in there are always millions of people that could use your help and the blessing back to you is always greater. When you give unconditionally, God always blesses you back beyond what you could have ever imagined. I believe we are here on this earth to service each other.

I teamed up with my client P!nk to help promote the UNICEF kid power bands www.UnicefKidPower.org which encourages school children to be active, earn points through movement which unlocks food for children in other countries so it is making them aware of other children in need. Essentially this UNICEF Kid power band project is creating the next generation of givers. I also just ran the NYC Marathon to raise money for my client Alicia Key’s Keep A Child Alive www.KeepAChildAlive.org foundation which supplies medication and support for children affected by HIV.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
