Sara Carbonero: Most Stunning Reporter in the World
Sara
Carbonero Arévalo was born on 3rd February 1984 in Corral de Almaguer, Toledo.
She is a Spanish TV presenter for Telecinco and sports journalist. During the
2010 FIFA World Cup it was alleged that Carbonero, reporting during the match
between Spain and Switzerland, had distracted Casillas, causing the unexpected
Swiss victory.
The allegations were made in the English press, originally by Graham Keeley of
The Times and later repeated by several other English newspapers, prompting the
Madrid-based Spanish newspapers El Mundo, El País and the popular sports daily
Marca to all run articles suggesting that the claims were preposterous and
untrue. Questions were also raised about her journalistic integrity after she
undertook to interview her boyfriend Casillas after the match. As a result of
the controversy Carbonero in Spain became "one of the most photographed people
of the World Cup".
In July 2009, Carbonero, the girlfriend of Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas, was
voted "The Sexiest Reporter in the World" by FHM USA. On 6 July 2013, it has
been announced that Sara and her long term boyfriend Iker Casillas would become
parents for the first time. Sara is believed to be 13 weeks pregnant then.
Sara Carbonero is one of the Top 99 most desirable women in the world as listed
by Askmen.com. On it's website they write about her " How hot is Sara Carbonero?
So hot that she may have cost the Spanish soccer team their first game of the
2010 FIFA World Cup. While covering Spain’s match against Sweden, the smoldering
television journalist -- who was named the sexiest sports reporter in the world
by FHM -- allegedly distracted Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas by standing
behind the net, allowing for a game-winning goal by the Swedes. Spanish fans,
though fervent, can’t have stayed mad for long, though. After all, she remains a
prominent figure on Spanish television. And Casillas? Well, the two are now
engaged, so he can’t be angry either".
Sara Carbonero, the most famous female Spanish TV sports presenter, largely
thanks to her relationship with Iker Casillas, captain of La Roja and Real
Madrid, and probably the best goalie in the world. While Spanish celebrity
magazines can’t wait for a marriage they predict will sell as many copies as a
royal wedding, the couple maintains a relatively untraditional relationship,
living together but refusing to tie the knot while they pursue their
interconnected careers in the sporting world.
Casillas proved himself a true Latin lover while breaking new boundaries in
professional etiquette after leading La Roja to its World Cup win in South
Africa in 2010. He interrupted a live TV interview that Carbonero was conducting
with him, and in front of millions of viewers, and embraced her in a long
passionate kiss.
According to reports out of Spain on 6 July 2013 , national team and Real Madrid
captain Iker Casillas is about to become a father, with long-time girlfriend
Sara Carbonero expecting a child in December or early 2014.
The news broke yesterday via Spanish outlet ‘El Mundo’, the couple having told
friends and family last Wednesday. With Casillas recently in Brazil with the
Spanish national team for the Confederations Cup, the pair had kept the
pregnancy to themselves until news could be spread among their closest friends.
With that news delivered, however, the couple has confirmed that Cabonero is 13
weeks along: “We’re very happy”, they told ‘El Mundo’ minutes prior to departing
for their ‘secret’ holiday spot. Casillas couldn’t hide his happiness: “I’m
going to have a baby from La Mancha”, the ‘Los Blancos’ keeper said …
This will be the first child for the couple of four years, one that’s sure to be
the focus of excessive tabloid fodder given the fame of his or her parents. Not
only is Casillas one of the most famous athletes in Spain, but Carbonero is one
of the nation’s best known television presenters and journalists, her coverage
of World Cup 2010 receiving extra attention because of her relationship with
Casillas.
Carbonero, now 29, became the subject of discussion when English reports
intimidated Spain’s opening match loss in South Africa was on account of
Casillas being distracted by his girlfriend. While those reports were soon
viewed as salacious, the couple were back in the spotlight moments after Spain
claimed their first world title, when Carbonero drew the duty of interviewing
her boyfriend (among other players) after the match.
Casillas, 32, is coming off his most difficult year as a professional, one
capped by a disappointing performance at last month’s Confederations Cup;
however, going into a season in which he’ll resume the number one’s job at the
Santiago Bernabéu, Casillas now has something more important to look forward to
in the coming season.
