Shirley Miller Calls Boxing A Healthy Addiction!

While playing the role of a caretaker, a mother and a wife, women often neglect their own health. That’s what happened with Shirley too. But she soon took things under her control and you can see how that transformed her.

Today we have a new story to inspire and motivate you to lead a healthier lifestyle. Let’s hear Shirley Miller’s journey.

Women Fitness:

You began your fitness journey in late March when your daughter wanted to sign up for boxing and have lost 35 pounds ever since. What motivated you to embark on this journey?

Shirley Miller:

When Moses told me to glove up, I had no idea how much boxing would effect my life. He taught me how to let everything go while in class, that the bag was my canvas that I could paint anything I wanted. With it only being less then 6 months of losing my husband it became my safe haven. Being my husband’s care taker and taking care of our daughter you lose the sight and energy to take care of yourself. Not knowing that this would be my life’s new journey.

Women Fitness:

In the course of your fitness journey, what were the milestones that you had to overcome?

Shirley Miller:

The biggest was letting go of all the anger and depression. Accepting that I could make a change for myself.

Women Fitness:

What is your fitness regime like?

Shirley Miller:

I work out every day take a pre-workout called FUEL 20-30 min’s before Boxing being my go to workout and on three days a week I add XT to my workouts. After I take a post work out FIX to lower my cortisol levels which sky rocket during workouts.

Women Fitness:

How do you feel about yourself now?

Shirley Miller:

I have never felt better. When people ask how old I am they don’t believe me. It’s feels good when you have someone younger than you say “They hope they are in as good shape as I am when they are my age. (Gotta say it does feel good when you can out last the 20’s and 30’s something)

Women Fitness:

In a typical day, what do you take for breakfast-lunch-dinner? And what are your go-to healthy snacks?

Shirley Miller:

I have an Evolv shake with spinach, a banana, Chia seeds, sometimes I use Silk Almond milk other days I add yogurt or water. Snacks consist of Evolv snack bars fruit. Light lunch or Evolv meal replacement snack bar, at a healthy dinner. There are days I will treat myself to chocolate desserts or out, this world meals that I enjoy. Glass of Red wine on occasions and sometimes a mixed Martini being light on calories.

Shirley Miller:

2018 is going to be a good year for me. I have immersed myself into helping others to achieve their goals (or what I like to use is Make a difference to enhance their life) the way I have. And the best part is knowing you are helping feed malnourished children across the world.
