Coachella 2015 has become the favourite place of celebrities to present their best fit bodies on the show. The 2015 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival kicked off April 10, and the celebrities came out to play, working their easiest, breeziest fashions. A-listers like Kendall Jenner, Bella Thorne, and Julianne Hough wore to the style-savvy fest! The annual two-weekend, three-day music and arts festival is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, located in the Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. It was founded by Paul Tollett in 1999 and is organized by Goldenvoice, a subsidiary of AEG Live. The event features many genres of music, including rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic dance music, as well as art installations and sculptures. Across the grounds, several stages continuously host live music.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly referred to as Coachella or the Coachella Festival) is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, located in the Inland Empire's Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. It was founded by Paul Tollett in 1999 and is organized by Goldenvoice, a subsidiary of AEG Live. The event features many genres of music, including rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic dance music, as well as art installations and sculptures. Across the grounds, several stages continuously host live music. The main stages are: Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theatre, Gobi Tent, Mojave Tent, and the Sahara Tent; a smaller Oasis Dome was used in 2006 and 2011, while a new Yuma stage was introduced in 2013.

The festival's origins trace back to a 1993 concert that Pearl Jam performed at the Empire Polo Club while boycotting venues controlled by Ticketmaster. The show validated the site's viability for hosting large events, leading to the inaugural Coachella Festival being held in October 1999 over two days, just three months after the disastrous Woodstock '99. After no event was held in 2000, Coachella returned on an annual basis beginning in April 2001 as a single-day event. In 2002, the festival reverted to a two-day format. Coachella was expanded to a third day in 2007 and eventually a second weekend in 2012; it is currently held on consecutive three-day weekends in April, with each weekend having identical lineups. Organizers began permitting spectators to camp on the grounds in 2003, one of several expansions and additions of amenities that have been made in the festival's history.
 

Coachella showcases popular and established musical artists, as well as emerging artists and reunited groups. Notable appearances in the past include: AC/DC, Amy Winehouse, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, Prince, Paul McCartney, Arcade Fire, Wu-Tang Clan, The Killers, Of Monsters and Men, Radiohead, Daft Punk, Madonna, The Cure, Kanye West, Eminem, Gorillaz, The Black Keys, Rage Against the Machine, Beck, Nine Inch Nails, The Strokes, The White Stripes, Jay-Z, Beastie Boys, Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Foo Fighters. Coachella is one of the largest, most famous, and most profitable music festivals in the United States. In 2014, the festival tallied an aggregate attendance of 579,000 over six days and grossed a record-breaking $78.3 million.

On November 5, 1993, Pearl Jam performed before almost 25,000 fans at the Empire Polo Club, a 78-acre site in Indio, California that had previously never hosted a music festival.[4] Although the band's management chose the fledgling site as part of a boycott of Ticketmaster and the Southern California auditoriums it controlled, the event established the polo club's suitability for large-scale events. Paul Tollett, who was involved in finding the venue for Pearl Jam, said the concert sowed the seeds for an eventual music festival there: "It was a really great show. Really crazy. So we wanted to do a festival five or six years later, and looked at a bunch of different places. But then we thought 'Why not go back out there?''

Six years later, on October 9–10, 1999, the inaugural Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was held, courtesy of concert promoters Goldenvoice. Headlining acts included Beck, The Chemical Brothers, Tool, Morrissey, and Rage Against the Machine; other acts included Jurassic 5, DJ Mike Hawk, and Underworld. Originally, promoters had hoped to make the event three days (Friday-Sunday) and even considered the UK band Massive Attack as the third-day headliner. Due to the fires and riots at Woodstock '99 three months earlier, Coachella promoters were not allowed to offer on-site camping, a ban that continued until 2002. The organizers strived to recreate European music festivals with small crowds in a great setting with plenty of turntables. By booking acts based on artistry rather than radio popularity, Coachella earned the title of "the anti-Woodstock".

Tickets sold for $50 for each day; about 17,000 tickets sold for the first day, and 20,000 for the second, falling short of the overall attendance goal of 70,000. Attendees were offered free parking and a free bottle of water upon entrance. The event went smoothly, with the well-behaved crowd starkly contrasting with the violence that plagued Woodstock '99; the biggest challenges to Coachella concertgoers were temperatures exceeding 100°F and the decisions of which of the 80-plus acts to attend. However, Goldenvoice lost $800,000 on the undertaking, with prominent bands like Rage Against the Machine, Tool, and Beck agreeing to delayed compensation. Tollett was forced to sell Goldenvoice, eventually agreeing to be acquired by Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) in March 2001 for $7 million. Tollett initially retained full control of Coachella, but now shares ownership evenly with AEG.

In 2001, Goldenvoice moved the festival to the month of April in an attempt to beat the heat and scheduled a single day. Ticket prices were raised to $65. Organizers encountered difficulty booking acts for the festival. Months before the event, promoters did not have a headline act and the festival risked failure. Promoters turned to Perry Farrell, who brought the reunited Jane's Addiction to the project.

In 2002, the event returned to a two-day format, featuring the reunited Siouxsie and the Banshees, as well as headlining acts Björk and Oasis.The strong supporting acts helped prove to the Indio community that the event could bring in money and take place without conflict.

On January 6, 2015 Coachella announced the official lineup for their 2015 festival. Headliners include AC/DC, Drake, and Jack White. Other notable performers include Florence and the Machine, Kaskade, Alesso, The Weeknd, Tame Impala, Interpol, Steely Dan, Alabama Shakes, alt-J, and Ryan Adams. The 2015 festival will be held on April 10–12 and April 17–19. General admission tickets again sold out in less than 20 minutes.

The other half of the festival is dedicated to visual arts, including installation art and sculpture. Most of the pieces are interactive, providing a visual treat to the attendees walking amongst the festival grounds. Some of the works were featured at Burnisel and involves participants from architecture schools, both local and international. A few of the visual artists, such as Hotshot the Robot, Robochrist Industries, the Tesla Coil (Cauac), Cyclecide, and The Do LaB, alongside avant-garde performance troupe Lucent Dossier Experience, have appeared for several consecutive years. Poster artist Emek has produced limited edition posters every year since 2007.

The festival takes place in a desert setting as the city of Indio is a part of the Colorado Desert. Temperatures during the festival's history have ranged from 124 °F (51 °C) on October 9, 1999 to 41 °F (5 °C) on April 14, 2012.

In 2003, Coachella started allowing tent camping as an option for festival lodging. The campground site is on a polo field adjacent to the venue grounds and has its own entrance on the south side of the venue. 2010 introduced many new features, such as re-entry from the campsite to the festival grounds, parking next to your tent, and recreational vehicle camping spots (recreational vehicle camping was offered one year only). For that festival, there were more than 17,000 campers. At the 2012 event, on-site facilities included recycling, a general store, showers, mobile phone charging stations and an internet cafe with free WiFi.

Organizers of the Coachella festival manage its carbon footprint by involving employees and attendees. The festival organizers promote carpooling and reward people who participate: cars with four or more people that display the word "carpoolchella" somewhere on their car may be selected by a secret spotter to win VIP tickets/pass for life for everyone in the car. In 2007, Coachella teamed up with Global Inheritance to start a 10 for 1 recycling program, in which anyone who collects ten empty water bottles receives a free full one. In 2009, the festival introduced $10 refillable water bottles, which purchasers could refill at water stations inside the festival and within the campgrounds.
 

According to the Los Angeles Times, booking fees for most artists playing the festival allegedly start at $15,000 and extend into the "high six figures"; top-billed artists for 2010 were expected to be paid over $1 million.[48] Billboard '​s sources estimate that non-headline acts can earn anywhere from $500 to $100,000. In booking the festival, Goldenvoice uses radius clauses that can prevent acts from performing in Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, or San Diego for up to three months before and after the festival. The promoter has allowed some of Coachella's acts to make appearances in the region prior to the festival and between weekends, but only at events and venues owned or controlled by Goldenvoice's parent company Anschutz Entertainment Group; one such example was Jay-Z's concert at Staples Center in 2010. Goldenvoice now promotes these events, dubbed "Localchella", as a series of small warm-up shows for Coachella in Southern California.

Since 2011, YouTube has live streamed the opening weekend of Coachella. Viewers can choose from three channels of performances to watch. Since 2014, AXS TV has been broadcasting the second weekend on television; over 20 hours of live performances from the 2015 festival will be broadcast on AXS TV. Performances from the 2015 festival will also be broadcast live on SiriusXM satellite radio for the first time.

The success of Coachella has led its organizers to partner with other American music festivals. In September 2014, Goldenvoice announced it had entered into a joint venture with Red Frog Events to help them promote and produce their Firefly Music Festival. In January 2015, a similar agreement was reached with the organizers of the Hangout Music Festival.

Clothing retailer H&M unveiled a clothing line inspired by the festival in 2015 called "H&M Loves Coachella". The success of Coachella in its early years proved music festivals could work and succeed in a destination form, as opposed to a traveling festival. The year of Coachella's debut was also the year of Woodstock '99, which was marred by riots, fires, and rapes, turning many people off music festivals. In the years following Coachella's success, many other festivals have followed in its footsteps, copying its format as a destination festival with multiple stages, attractions, art, and camping. Some of these new festivals have grown to achieve the same success as Coachella, such as Lollapalooza in Chicago, Governors Ball in New York City and Bonnaroo in Tennessee. According to a 2015 ranking by online ticket retailer viagogo, Coachella was the second-most in-demand concert ticket, trailing only the Tomorrowland festival.

According to a 2012 economic impact study, Coachella brought $254.4 million to the desert region that year, of that total, Indio received $89.2 million in consumer spending and $1.4 million in tax revenue. In 2007, Goldenvoice inaugurated the Stagecoach Festival, an annual country music festival that takes place on the same grounds as Coachella the following weekend. Seen as a "cousin" of Coachella, Stagecoach has grown at a faster pace, eventually selling out for the first time in 2012 with 55,000 attendees.

Hough's first leading role was as Ariel Moore in the 2011 remake of the Paramount film Footloose, opposite Kenny Wormald as Ren McCormack. Filming began in September 2010.


She played the role of Sherrie Christian in the 2012 film adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages, alongside Tom Cruise and Mary J. Blige.

In 2012, she came in 6th on the Forbes top-earning models list, estimated to have earned $6.6 million in one year. Ambrosio was born in Erechim, Brazil on April 11, 1981. Her parents own a petrol station. She has Italian and Polish ancestry. She enrolled at a modelling class at the age of 12, and at the age of 14, she was one of 20 finalists for the 1996 Elite Model Look national competition for Brazil. Ambrosio was always insecure about her large ears, and at the age of 12, she had cosmetic surgery to have her ears pinned back, though two years later she suffered complications. In 2006, she appeared on The Tyra Banks Show, and said that the surgery was a bad experience and has discouraged her from ever getting plastic surgery again.

When Ambrosio was 12 years old, she started modeling classes,and then began modeling for Dilson Stein at age 15. Competing in Brazil's Elite Model Look competition started her modeling career in earnest. Her first notable modeling job was the cover of Brazilian Elle magazine. Elite passed along some of her Polaroids to Guess which led her booking the Millennium GUESS? campaign. She has since appeared in advertisements for brands like Revlon, Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, and Ralph Lauren, as well as the Pirelli Calendar. She has walked the catwalks for designers such as Prada, Chanel, and Oscar de la Renta.

She has appeared in numerous international magazine covers, including Cosmopolitan, Elle, GQ, Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire, Ocean Drive, Vogue and the only model to appear on the cover of Glamour in the United States in 2006.In 2004, Ambrosio launched her line of swimwear called Alessandra Ambrosio by Sais, a division of Rosa Chá. It sold 10,000 units in only its first month on the market. Ambrosio was the face for the UK company Next and starred in their first television campaign in 12 years. On the July 2009 cover of Marie Claire, Ambrosio appeared in a spread with Sacha Baron Cohen to promote Baron Cohen's 2009 film Brüno.

Ambrosio, became the face of Brazilian sportswear brand Colcci costarring with Ashton Kutcher in a steamy denim ad. She was ranked No. 5 on Forbes' The World's Top-Earning Models list, with an estimated earnings of $5 million over the year 2010–2011. In October 2011, Ambrosio became Vogue's blogger, commenting on her wardrobe by posting one photo of herself each day for a month.

On August 13, 2012 she appeared in the London 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony as part of Rio de Janeiro's Handover show By 2004, she was selected as the first spokesmodel for the Victoria's Secret "PINK" line In 2005, she walked the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show runway wearing lingerie made entirely out of candy. In the 2008 edition of the Fashion Show, she walked the runway three months after giving birth to her first child, and opened the show the following year in 2009. The 2011 show saw her wearing the heaviest wings (30 lb) ever made for the show. In 2012, Ambrosio was chosen to wear the "Fantasy Bra". The Floral Fantasy Bra, created by London Jewelers, features amethysts, rubies, sapphires and diamonds (including a 20-carat white diamond in the center), all set in rose and yellow gold, according to InStyle. There's also a matching belt adorned with more than 5,200 precious stones.

Ambrosio has made several television appearances, notably a cameo as herself on HBO's Entourage; The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn; Late Night with Conan O'Brien; A guest judge on Project Runway season 2: Team Lingerie and twice on The Tyra Banks Show. In 2006, she had a cameo on the box-office hit movie, Casino Royale appearing briefly as Tennis Girl #1. Ambrosio guest-starred on How I Met Your Mother (episode: "The Yips") on November 26, 2007 with her fellow Victoria's Secret Angels Adriana Lima, Selita Ebanks, Marisa Miller, Miranda Kerr, and Heidi Klum.

Ambrosio has been engaged to businessman Jamie Mazur since 2008. The couple have two children: daughter Anja Louise Ambrosio Mazur and son Noah Phoenix Ambrosio Mazur. She is the National Ambassador for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Alessandra Ambrosio said “80 percent of the time I'm on some beautiful island in a bikini. But I'm working and everybody else is on their honeymoon!”.
