The 3 Best Smoothies For Your Health

June 19, 2018 By Namita Nayyar (Editor in chief)

Do you want to eat healthier but struggle to find the time to cook? Have you been feeling a bit low on energy? Then these delicious smoothies, packed full of vitamins and nutrients, are for you! They couldn’t be easier to make and if you find it difficult to eat the seven pieces of fruit or vegetable, recommended to everyone by the government, they will be a life changer.

Unfortunately, it isn’t as simple as blending fruit and ice, that won’t keep you satisfied and doesn’t provide the protein or carbs required in a healthy balanced diet. If you are drinking your smoothie alongside workouts at the gym, they will help your muscles to recover and help provide the energy required to get you through the day. To add extra health benefits, without effecting the taste why not add some CBD oil to your juice or smoothie?

Spiced Lemon Juice

Spiced Lemon Juice

This is great for flushing out any toxins, perfect for a Monday morning to detox your system and give you a boost of energy to help you get over a busy weekend! Beware it has a kick! Reduce or remove the cayenne pepper if it is too much for you to handle.

  • 1 squeezed lemon
  • 2 cups of water
  • ½ tsp turmeric (ground)
  • ¼ tsp ginger (ground)
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey

Mix together all the ingredients, except for the syrup, which is added according to taste.

Duchesses’ Drink

Duchesses’ Drink

This recipe is said to be how Meghan Markle (now the Duchess of Sussex) starts her day. It has added protein powder which helps you to stay full for longer, aiding weight loss and helps your muscles recover more quickly after exercise. It also benefits from the addition of almond milk which has half the calories of cow’s milk and coconut water which is excellent for hydration.

  • 1 packet of protein powder
  • ½ cup of almond milk
  • ½ cup of coconut water
  • ½ cup of blueberries
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Sprinkle of chia seeds

Mix together all the ingredients.

Green Goodness

There are so many reasons why this Green Goodness smoothie should become part of your routine, its benefits are endless and it tastes good too. As well as the added vitamins and nutrients this smoothie aids digestion, helps increase your energy levels, boosts the health of your heart and makes your skin glow. It’s a great smoothie for kids, they won’t even realise they are drinking dreaded vegetables!

  • ¼ of a peeled cucumber
  • ¼ of an avocado
  • 1 large kiwi fruit
  • Handful of spinach leaves
  • 1 lime, squeezed

Blend together in your smoothie maker until smooth, if it seems too thick simply dilute with some cold water.

Try these smoothies with added CBD oil to see how you can benefit from the natural enhancement of your body’s endocannabinoid system. It can help provide massive improvements to your physical and mental wellbeing including your sleep and metabolism.
