Bradie Tennell is an American competitive figure skater. She is a 2018 Olympic team event bronze medallist, the 2020 Four Continents bronze medallist, the 2018 CS Autumn Classic champion, the 2018 CS Golden Spin of Zagreb champion, and the 2018 U.S national champion.
Tennell concluded the season as part of the gold medal-winning Team USA at the 2019 World Team Trophy, in Japan.
As at 20 April 2020, Tennell is currently the second highest ranked ladies’ singles skater in world by the International Skating Union.
Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar had a candid interview with Bradie Tennell, World second highest ranked ladies’ singles figure skater where she talks about her workout, diet, and success story.
You began skating at an early age of 2. Walk us through your spectacular journey and share 2 memorable instances?
It’s so hard to pick just two instances! I have so many amazing memories from my childhood, growing up in the sport. I would say my two most memorable instances are winning my National title in 2018 and finding out that I made the Olympic team. Both of those things happened on the same day and I can remember it like it was yesterday. I was so happy I thought I would burst. It was my childhood dream comes true.

The Olympics will always be one of the proudest moments of my life. I don’t think anything can really compare to standing on the podium with my teammates watching our country’s flag being raised. It gives me goose bumps just thinking about it. It was a lifetime of work being realised and I can’t put into words how much it meant to me.
Introduce us to a day in your life.
My day starts pretty early. I get up at 4:30 a.m., and I leave my house by 5:15 to get to the rink. I am always on the ice before 7 a.m., and I finish my day of skating around 1 pm. After I’m done with my practice, I switch gears and teach my students. This is one of my favourite parts of my day.
I love being able to share my passion for the sport with the younger kids. After I’m done teaching, I head home for a little bit to regroup before I go to the gym for some off-ice work. Depending on the day, I could be doing anything from ballet to plyometric. After I finish at the gym, I come home for the night and spend time with my family.
