Ingredients
- 2 cups-water
- 2 tbsp-sugar
- 1 tsp-lemon juice
- 1/2 stick dalchini (cinnamon)
Sauce
- 2 cups apple syrup
- 1.5 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp custard powder
Instructions
- Peel apples. Cut into equal halves. Remove seeds.
- Boil water with sugar, lemon juice & dalchini.
- Add the apple pieces. Cook, covered for 3-4 minutes till apples turn soft.
- Remove the apples to a flat, round serving dish. Reserve the syrup.
- To prepare the sauce, cool 1/2 cup syrup. Add custard power to this 1/2 cup syrup which should not be hot.
- Boil the left over syrup with sugar in a clean pan.
- Add the dissolved custard, stirring continuously.
- Boil till translucent and slightly thick (3-4 minutes).
- Pour the sauce over the apples placed in a serving dish.
- Place a fresh cherry or a grape in the centre of each piece of apple. Chill.
- NOTE : Pears (Nashpati) may be substituted for apples.
