Silvia Marsó: Exceptionally Talented Spanish Film Actress talks about her Workout, Diet and Beauty Secrets

August 30, 2021 By Namita Nayyar (Editor in chief)

Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?

Silvia Marsó:

What helped me the most in life is Pilates. This technique makes your whole body well aligned and all your muscles work without gaining weight. I also like Tai Chi for concentration, yoga for elasticity and relaxation, and now I am practicing an era, of muscular strength, with a personal trainer twice a week. Because aging, the muscles weaken. It is very important to take care of the body, because if not, when we are older, it gives us problems.

Namita Nayyar:

Do you take a special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Silvia Marsó:

Food is also something that I take great care of. I try to eat proteins of vegetable origin, I am not totally vegan, but every time I consume fewer animals for ethical reasons.

Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your hair care and skincare routine.

Silvia Marsó:

I think my secret with my skin is never having smoked. Do not drink any alcohol. And never put makeup on. I only wear makeup to play characters in film, television and theater.
But during my personal life, my face is clean and always well hydrated. When I put on makeup to work, always before going to bed I clean myself with products that leave me a perfect skin. I have no more secrets. And I take care of my hair by putting Virgin olive oil once a month for 24 hours. It is a natural way to nourish it and give it elasticity.

Namita Nayyar:

Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding upcoming actresses, who all are your fans and shall like to know from you for their climb to the ladder of success in the field of acting?

Silvia Marsó:

When I was very young I coincided on a shoot here in Spain with Ava Gardner, the series was called “Harem” it was shot in the desert of Córdoba in Andalusia and during a break from shooting she was smoking outside her caravan vehicle, and I asked her if she could give me some advice.

She told me: Girl be patient, because in this profession you never get there. If Mrs. Garner, with her category as an actress, said these words to me, as a beginning actress, I remembered them throughout my career. And they have served me as a great example of humility.

Namita Nayyar:

Tell us more about your upcoming professional projects in acting?

Silvia Marsó:

I have just shot a film titled Berlanga, directed by Rafa Maluenda and it is in tribute to the great Spanish film director, whose centenary of his birth is celebrated in 2021. And my next projects are focused on the theater. Although I do not rule out the possibility of doing a series. My agent, Lucia Del Rio, is organizing my agenda. I still can’t give titles because they are unsigned.

Namita Nayyar:

What has been your catalyst in motivating your to perform and take your acting career to much greater heights?

Silvia Marsó:

The catalyst in my career has always been the desire to learn, enthusiasm, and enthusiasm. And I hope I never lose these three motivations.

Namita Nayyar:

How you are so body confident and advice to your compatriots?

Silvia Marsó:

The body is very important to maintain mental health. I, who have studied the human body to be able to interpret characters, I realize that the state of mind, sometimes, is perceived in the posture and in the body of the human being.

Namita Nayyar:

Five foods you absolutely love and five you keep to a minimum.

Silvia Marsó:

My five favorite foods are: fruit, vegetables, cheese, fish and foods that I never eat are: animals that have not yet developed and that are babies, eggs from industries that keep chickens in cages. Duck pate, for the mistreatment it entails. As you can see, I have ethical priorities rather than dietary ones.
