August 29, 2020 By Namita Nayyar (WF Team)

The calming and soothing effects of tea are well known. Caffeine, which can be found in many teas is also well known to give you a boost in energy, mood and help your concentration.

There is a Tea for Every Mood.

Once you have started experimenting with the brewing and infusing process you will be able to observe the subtleties of different teas.

Good Morning call: Irish breakfast tea

This tea will give you just the right punch. It’s one of a number of blends of black teas gathered from all over the world that can perk you up and help you to get started each morning.

Quick Chill: Oolong tea

You’ve just have a short break before your briefing meeting with the team on the next one. When you want to sneak a few minutes of “me time” and enjoy a few minutes of quiet time away from the world, brew yourself a cup of oolong, suggests Twining. “It’s smooth and mellow.”

Stress Buster: Peppermint Tea (Mentha Piperita)

Drinking peppermint tea will help you have an overall calm. Because of the relaxing effect of peppermint tea and its lack of caffeine, it makes a wonderful tea to drink before going to bed. It will help you have a peaceful sleep, just what you need after a crazy day. To make: use both dry and fresh peppermint leaves to make tea. For dry peppermint leaves, add 1 tablespoon in about 8 ounces if boiling water. Allow to steep for 3-4 minutes. For fresh leaves, add crushed leaves in boiling water and allow simmering for 2 minutes. Strain before drinking.

Energier: Green Tea

Reach for a mug of green tea after 4 p.m to set the right mood. Twining calls it a “keep me going” type of tea, that makes for “easy drinking on a busy day.” Plus it’s an energizer with much less caffeine than coffee.

To fight Insomnia and Restlessness: Lemon Balm Tea

Lemon balm is an herb belonging to the mint family and the leaves contain a lemon aroma. It has been used for thousands of years to soothe the entire nervous system, specifically treating anxiety and sleep disorders among other ailments. Insufficient and poor sleep can intensify anger and impulse control as it pertains to irritability and anger. Drinking lemon balm team has a calming effect to induce sleep.

Sneeze & Cold: Lemon ginger

If you’re feeling a bit under the weather or think you might be getting sick, the lemon has antiseptic properties and ginger encourages drainage. “The fresh zesty lemon dances on to your palette and the warming ginger gently heats your throat,” Twining says.

Fatigue: Ashwaganda Tea

Ashwaganda is an herb grown on a shrub-like nightshade plant. It is also known as “India’s ginseng” or “winter cherry” is primarily used for its medicinal properties to treat mental and physical fatigue—something anger is known to blossom from—by gently increasing energy levels.

For Inspiration: Rooibos Tea

Rooibos tea is also known as red tea or red bush tea. It is made using leaves from a shrub called Aspalathus linearis, usually grown on the western coast of South Africa. Rooibos tea is usually consumed like black tea. Some people add milk and sugar — and rooibos iced tea, espressos, lattes and cappuccinos have also taken off. Contrary to some claims, rooibos tea is not a good source of vitamins or minerals — aside from copper and fluoride. However, it is full of powerful antioxidants, which may offer health benefits.

Running Restless: Lavender Tea

You work hard to lead a healthy life and even eliminate bad sugars and calorie-packed meals from your diet. Lavender tea might just be the secret you’re looking for. Lavender is a naturally sweet herb and is also quite edible and contains a myriad of health benefits. It cures anxiety, stress, stomach upsets, insomnia, acne and skin infections. Lavender tea is a sweet herbal tea that will leave you hooked for years. Catch a cup to gain control. This exquisite lavender tea recipe is aromatic and full of flavor.

You’ll fall in love with the sweet scent that emanates from your teacup once you prepare honey lavender tea in your kitchen. This tea has the ability to calm you, regardless of how stressed up you are.

To prepare it,

  • Fill a kettle with water and put it on the stove to boil.
  • Add honey lavender tea and let it simmer in the hot water for some minutes.
  • Strain it, put the tea into a cup.
  • Enjoy it!

Kid Party Blast: Peach flavoured Iced Tea

Your kids and their friends have just stampeded through the door after practice, and suddenly, everyone wants iced tea. This is when cold-brewed iced tea can come to the rescue. Just throw a few bags (peach flavored is nice) into a large pitcher of cold water and let stand or five minutes and then pour over ice. Fantastic, you have perfect iced tea for the masses.

When you brew your next cup of tea to suit your mood you can now think about the side effects of drinking tea and the health benefits of tea.
