Miss Universe Canada 2009 Mariana Valente: Reveals Her Diet, Workout & Beauty Secrets

Mariana Valente is Miss Universe Canada 2009, Miss Latina Canada 2007 and top 10 finalists for Miss Brazil Canada 2005 is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You being crowned on May 16th 2009 as The Beauty Queen Miss Universe Canada 2009 propelled your professional career to the height where you have been at the top of the world of glamour and beauty. Tell us something about this fairy tale journey?

Ms. Mariana Valente:

Winning Miss Universe Canada 2009 was a bit of a surprise to me. I didn’t grow up wishing to be in a pageant it just happened naturally in my life. During the national competition I really enjoyed the whole experience, making the best out of every opportunity that came my way. There is nothing like being on stage, the adrenaline, and overall experience is just exhilarating!

The year during my reign was definitely busy, filled with trips, appearances, fundraisers, and preparations for the Miss Universe competition. My life was changed, I changed. I became a confident women, in every aspect of my life. This experience gave me enough confidence to work hard for what I wanted, and ever since then I have opened two businesses, with my now husband, in the fitness industry.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You are world leading media personality, TV star, model, style icon, fitness expert, spokesperson and a brand ambassador. How you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?

Ms. Mariana Valente:

Wow thank you for all the acknowledgments!

Its not easy! At times I definitely feel like I have too much on my plate, but that is what makes it fun. I love how my life can be completely different from one moment to the other. I can go from being in the Fit Food kitchen cooking for clients with my staff, to a Miss Universe Canada event, to training a client at my personal training studio The Fit Loft, to a television interview to promote both companies, and still find time to do my workout.

It it almost like I crave the craziness and diversity in my life. I have to thank my husband Mike, for keeping me sane and being the best business partner one can ask for. His knowledge in this industry and commitment to leading a healthy lifestyle is what inspired me to do what I do.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?

Ms. Mariana Valente:

Mike and I workout together. We come up with programs of what we want to do and follow it, we like to change it up all the time. Last month we really got into MMA style training with tire flips, sledge hammer hits, and rope exercises. I love lifting weights. I like the challenge of putting that extra plate on the bar. I’m a girl so anytime I’m doing a leg routine I’m happy! I’m all about balance, and I find that perfect balance by lifting weights and doing yoga. Yoga keeps me calm, flexible and inspired!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Mariana Valente:

I’m on Fit Food. Fit Food is a company that my husband and I created to provide people healthy prepared meals delivered fresh. There is nothing better than the convenience of having all my meals in a container that is labeled, portion controlled, made fresh, and delivered to me. Like I mentioned before balance is everything and that is what Fit Food is, a meal plan that is balanced and tastes amazing. I maintain my physique and my health by eating Fit Food meals.
