Russia and the Birth Rates in
the Country

Declining population is one of the biggest problems of modern
Russia. Mr. Putin said falling birth rates and the rise in mortality made
Russia’s demographic situation “critical”.
He outlined a national program to encourage women to have
more children, pledging more state help. At least, to stimulate the birth of
second child and to reverse this vicious circle this policy has a vital
importance.
He support young mothers especially those who had a second child. Russian
government gave $ 10.000. The aid was successful
and in 2007 birth rate is increase from 10.3% to 11.3 %
The aid contains some services. For example, some amount of
money deposited to the bank and the money spent by the mother for her
child’s future education expense. The other amount of money is given for
family demand such as electricity and natural gas and also health service is
given by the government. Russia provides aid from oil revenue and it has
some similarities regarding to increase social expenditures with Arabs.
Russian governments think that giving more money for third child in 2009.
