Haryana implements new scheme for welfare of pregnant women

India News > Chandigarh, Dec 8 : The Health Department in Haryana has implemented a new scheme for the welfare of pregnant women with a view to bringing a significant decline in infant mortality rate.
Under the scheme, deliveries including caesarian ones will be conducted free of cost in all Government hospitals, Director General of Health Service B S Dahiya said here today.
Under the scheme, women would be provided free medicines and blood, if required, he added.
He said that a programme supported by the European Commission was also being implemented in the state for the improvement of healthcare system.
Under the programme, special attention was being paid towards the health of women and children, he said. PTI
