She’s a dedicated advocate for animal rights, having posed nude for a series of ads for PETA.
And Joanna Krupa continued her quest for fair treatment of animals as she appeared on Saturday in her home country of Poland with two abandoned German Shepherds.
The 36-year-old former Real Housewives Of Miami star stepped out in Warsaw with the two dogs as she filmed a spot for the local television in hopes of finding someone to adopt them.
A camera crew followed the reality TV star as she walked the two dogs down cobble-stoned streets, one leash in each hand.
She donned a delicate frock from Polish design company LookBook, which featured birds and floral designs and hiked up high to show off her toned legs.
And the model-turned-actress wore her blonde locks in a single braid that hung to one side.
The Dancing With The Stars alum also took to Instagram to share the plight of the two pups.
A photo from last week shows Joanna and a friend with the two dogs – who are named Kenia and Bruno – in the back seat of the car.
‘Just rescued these 2 Angels from the shelter,’ Joanna captioned the photo. ‘I am gonna be fostering for the next month while in Poland hoping to find them a home together.’
Another snap shows the model and her furry friends during Saturday’s shoot.
Joanna crouches down and poses with the two dogs as they pant with their tongues out, post walk.
‘Today Kenia 8 years and Bruno 5 years were on live TV to find a new loving home,’ the reality star captioned the photo.
As a former Playboy model, Krupa has utilized her beauty in her role as an animal activist.
In a 2009 ad for PETA, the model is shown nude but covering herself with a cross. Below her is a huddle of adorable puppies as the slogan reads: ‘Be an Angel for Animals. Always adopt. Never buy.’
And in another ad, she poses naked again in front of the Los Angeles Walt Disney Concert Hall with the catchphrase: ‘I’d rather go naked than wear fur.’
Joanna Krupa is a Polish American model and actress. She is best known for her appearances on the reality television shows Dancing with the Stars, Poland’s Next Top Model and The Real Housewives of Miami.
Krupa was born in Warsaw, Poland and was raised Roman Catholic. She has a younger sister, Marta, also a model. Joanna moved to Illinois, United States, with her family at the age of five.
Krupa appeared as Jane Goody in the action film Max Havoc: Curse of the Dragon. Krupa has appeared on magazine covers including Envy, FHM, Personal, Inside Sport, Stuff, Steppin’ Out, Teeze, Shape and Maxim, in which she was named the Sexiest Swimsuit Model in the World. Maxim named her #55 in its 2011 Hot 100 ranking of the world’s hottest women. She was voted German Maxim’s Model of the Year 2004–2005. Krupa has also appeared twice on the cover of Playboy. Krupa has also been a lingerie model for Frederick’s of Hollywood. She was a Miss Howard TV model for the month of December 2007.
Krupa was featured on the television show Superstars in June 2009. She and her partner Terrell Owens were eliminated on the first episode. However, because of another team’s injury and disqualification, she and her partner were asked to step in and continue competing and did well in their comeback episode.
Krupa, who took ballet lessons as a child, competed in Season 9 of Dancing with the Stars with one-time champion Derek Hough. They were eliminated on November 17, 2009.
She sang a version of The Spinners’ “I’ll Be Around” as part of a duo with Manon; it was released November 19, 2009.
On December 2, 2009, PETA released a controversial ad of the model, which shows Krupa posing nude holding a cross that covers her breasts and genitalia. Krupa is depicted as an angel floating in a Catholic church filled with young puppies. The message of the ad is to “be an angel for animals, always adopt dogs, never buy”. Krupa had appeared nude in three previous ads for PETA, all speaking out against wearing fur. In an April 2009 cover story with Aventura Business Monthly, Krupa said she was first motivated to promote PETA when she saw video of animals being skinned alive in China for their fur. She posed nude again for PETA in 2015, this time for their campaign to boycott SeaWorld.[17]
Since autumn 2010, Krupa has hosted and served as the head judge on Poland’s Next Top Model. In 2012, Krupa was announced as one of the new cast members on The Real Housewives of Miami, which premiered on September 13. Her sister, Marta, also appears on the show. After several years of dating, Krupa became engaged to nightclub owner and businessman Romain Zago in 2010. They married on June 13, 2013 in Aviara, Carlsbad, California, with the wedding costing approximately $1 million. Krupa was partnered with professional dancer and choreographer Derek Hough. She was voted off in the ninth week, finishing in 4th place.
